 Melbourne's best shopping strip must surely be
the tiny group of shops sharing the corner of Albert Street and Sydney Road in Brunswick. Joining the much-loved Radical
Grocery, Scavengers, Brunswick Bound and Green Fields Restaurant is a new
concept fashion store, Woods & Fields, which opened in March.
Woods & Fields is an ethical fashion store stocking clothes and accessories
that are both vegan and sustainable. The store looks fabulous, with racks of
beautiful clothes hanging in a space that has been completely fitted out with
recycled and salvaged materials.
Vegan owners Des and Elysia are aiming to create a store where customers can
build their entire wardrobe from ethical and sustainable pieces. From fair
trade t-shirts to bamboo undies and hemp jackets, Des and Elysia have sourced
clothes from around the globe, including brands such as Fin Oslo, Bamboo Body,
Enamore, Armed Dangerous and Eako.
Instore now are a range of clothes for guys and girls, including t-shirts,
dresses, jackets, undies and belts. In the future Woods & Fields hopes to
expand its small range to include more clothes and a wider variety of
accessories, including jewellery.
The stock at Woods & Fields looks amazing, and is priced fairly. No doubt
fashionistas will be keen to jump straight into many of the garments, as the
organic and natural fabrics feel beautiful to touch as well as looking great.
