If Mary Poppins were to represent an ecologically-sound label, it might well be the British Tam + Rob. The garments they produce are slightly conservative, the colours are pretty, the styles classic.
All their pieces are manufactured in fairtrade factories in India and Nepal. Tam + Rob's organic fabrics are also obtained under fairtrading agreements. All carbon emissions from the business are offset and the company donates 10 per cent of their profits to charities in India, Nepal and the UK. At the moment Tam + Rob only ship within the UK, however they are working on shipping internationally. Australians can source them indirectly, through stockist The Natural Store.
