Red Duck Burton Strong Bitter PDF Print
Wednesday, 09 January 2008

With its naming origins tied to a town on the River Trent in Staffordshire, England this highly hopped, traditional English style ale is rich in flavour and aromas.

As you go to take a sip a strong, almost fruity, scent hits your nose before the beer touches your lips. The flavour itself is crisp and fruity also, with a freshness that is perfect for a hot summer day. At 5.4 per cent this is a stronger beer, but not enough to have you legless off one bottle. The Burton Strong Bitter has a slightly cloudy appearance but the colour is a vibrant deep yellow, not quite an amber. Brewed locally just out of Melbourne, this limited release from Red Duck is totally vegan-friendly with a note on the side: ‘Our limited release beers may not contain any real ducks’. Three other limited releases are available: Queen Bee Honey Porter (not vegan), Golden Dragon Strong Celtic Ale and the Ox Imperial Stout.

Average price: $3.55 per bottle. 4 packs $13.95
