Springing to life in 1998 thanks to a group of dedicated
volunteers, Vegetarian Network Victoria (VNV) has spent the last decade
providing invaluable support and advice to the community. In celebration of its
ten year anniversary, the group is hosting a trivia night in Camberwell on
Saturday 16 August.
VNV is a
not-for-profit, volunteer-run organisation based in Melbourne. It is run by people who care about
human health, animal welfare and the environment. The group’s aim is to promote
the many benefits of vegetarianism, and provide quality service, support and
up-to-date information to vegetarians, vegans and the wider community.
In the years since its creation, VNV has made its presence felt in campaigns
and events that are too numerous to mention. Ten years of vegetarian activism
is a significant milestone, and an event we at VNV think warrants a bit of a
celebration.

Each year the VNV trivia night is held to bring the
vegetarian community together for a night of entertainment and prizes, as well
as to raise funds for VNV's programs and campaigns throughout the year. As for
the celebratory part of the night, there will be speeches and a history of VNV
presentation, as well as the most vital part of any birthday, being a massive
cake.
In addition to the giving your brain a workout with
trivia, there will also be a raffle with a range of fantastic prizes and a
number of 'silent auctions' where bidders write down their bids. There will be
games during intervals, bawdy rivalry between competing tables, and good
natured heckling of presenters.
