Multi-talented East Timorese artist Ego Lemos was in Australia at the 2010 Darwin Festival last week. Lemos is internationally known for his award winning song, Balibo, which was the soundtrack to the movie of the same name. He has also recently released his debut solo album, O Hele Le, which features beautiful folk songs in Tetum, the East Timorese national language. Aduki spoke by phone with Lemos about his achievements as a musician and environmental campaigner for the Timorese people.

Tristain Clarke's "Stick this in your memory hole" was released under a "Creative Commons attribution-noncommercial 2.5 Australia license" (more info) in 2007, one of the first printed titles in Australia to be issued under such a CC license. As we reach the remnants of the book's stock and want to make space for new titles we thought it was about time we let the book out into the wild and gave the public an opportunity to embrace CC and remix culture and attempt to remix a book.
This could take a variety of forms... You could remix the actual words within the book, or you could remix the physical book itself... That is up to you...
Where can you get a copy? You can get a physical copy here for the cost of postage only or you can get an eBook copy here.
Of course we would love to see the results of your remixes, so

The Veg*n shopper was a very popular title and there have been several requests for aduki to reprint or rework the title and we are looking into that, but in the meantime we found 6 copies lurking in a corner of our distributors warehouse so we thought we should make them available to all of you who keep asking for them...
But there's more!
We're releasing these titles as 'pay-as-you-feel', you pay what you feel they are worth. Before you make up your mind on that front, we should mention that all proceeds from the sale of these 6 books will be donated to Adelaide's Vegan Festival on 14th November, so dig deep as there are only six and likely to go very quickly!
Head over to our campaign page to get involved.
